Today, the New York Times Editorial Board weighed in on Governor Cuomo's recent proposal for the Sheridan Corridor. On March 19, 2017, Governor Cuomo announced a $1.7 billion investment in Sheridan Expressway Corridor that will include converting the Sheridan Expressway to a boulevard and direct access for commercial traffic into the Hunts Point Peninsula. SBRWA Brings Together 300 South Bronx Youth to Celebrate State Funding for Transformation of Sheridan Expressway by Planning for New Boulevard
On Friday, May 13th, SBRWA members brought together 300 South Bronx youth to celebrate Governor Cuomo's announcement that the NY State Budget will include funding for the conversion of Sheridan Expressway into a neighborhood-friendly boulevard. The summit engaged young people with interactive workshops and participatory planning exercises to envision the future of the neighborhood made possible by conversion.
